  1. Will one of the fourth officials of the SF take charge of the final then?

  2. Anonymous14/5/13 14:19

My guess is Anastasios Sidiropoulos for the final. Gozubuyuk will have a match 19 May in the Netherlands; so he is out.

  3. Doyle, Gözübüyük and the four missing ARs are already at home..
So only Stoyanov or Sidiropoulos can have the final.

  4. Okay, thanks. Yeah, I know about Gozubuyuk. I would think Sidiropoulos too, already a quite complete referee.

  5. I will make a guess for the final.

    Sidiropoulos, Zhuk, Konstantinov, Stoyanov, Levnikov.

  6. ITA-RUS
Stoyanov, Kostadinov, Zhuk, Vincic, Marko is my prediction.

  7. Anonymous15/5/13 10:30

    Italy - Russia
    Sidiropoulos, Storey, Zhuk, Stoyanov.

  8. Sorry Niclas its Sidiropoulos kostadinov storey stoyanov marko.
you have to know that after semifanals the two referees go back home so vincic as 4th impossible
and some news for women cl its Damkova the observer and heglund the delegate
For men its wolff delegate and elleray as observer

    1. Very interesting Kika, thank you as always.
      So a delegate from LUX.
UEFA Referee Observer: David Elleray (ENG)
      UEFA Delegate: Joël Wolff (LUX)

    2. Thanks a lot as always!
Good appointment at u17 final and Elleray gets the next final after Euro 2012. But it does not help us in any way regarding predictions for CL final, the only one which could have helped us would have been Collina :)

    3. so maybe you should think about cakir? :)

    4. Surely is not Mazic, since he was the last referee observed by Elleray in PSG - Valencia.

Furthermore, reading the other names, we can say nothing. He never (in the last times) had Cakir, Velasco, Rizzoli, Eriksson..

    5. Only at Euro 2012 he had Rizzoli. But it's clear that this does not count, it's nearly 12 months ago..

    6. I said earlier Elleray or Vassaras, so I was right. Even I thought the same observer will be in Women and Men CL, I'm actually not surprised that Damkova is appointed for CL.

NIR AR Storey had a fantastic decision in half final Italy - Slovakia

  10. Sidiropoulos in the Final. Already announced by UEFA

  11. Posts will come on Sidiropoulos' and Elleray's appointment by tomorrow after Kuipers' final.

Have seen the match Sweden - Russia with Clavko Vincic.
    My observation as below:

A technically better equipped Russia was confronted with a motivated, athletic and physically powerful Swedish team. In the end Russia was the more lucky winner in a thrilling penalty shoot out

Key strengths as demonstrated during this match by Vincic
    • Highly concentrated and mentally alert with fine and adequate feeling for the game.
    • Clear convincing signalling, applied in a flexible manner depending on the foul committed .
    • Intelligent and emphatic tactical game control, mostly wise application and interpretation of Laws of the game and good and respectful injury management by which as a result earned respect with players and officials.
    • Good differentiation between real and not real fouls and application of wait & see.
    • Good proactive application of verbal warnings supported by a convincing and energetic body language. Good balance between verbal warnings and the correctly given yellow cards with exception of yellow card for the Russian goalkeeper ( min 56)
    • Very good and effective anticipating positioning play with excellent backward running thus keeping a good overview on the total game. Excellent his sprinting capabilities.

    Key areas for improvement/consideration
    • Speed up the time between the interruption of the game and execution of the free kick. Avoid taking too much time.
    • After having given the second yellow card ( =red) for Sweden player Nr. 10, referee Vincic became somewhat too lenient and tolerant towards the Swedish players. ( Unconsciously compromising?).
    • The yellow card for the Russian goalkeeper for unintentional hand outside the penalty area is questionable. ( Goalkeeper was gliding unintentionally outside the penalty area and a free kick was enough)
    • After having indicated an extra time of 3 minutes in the second half, the match should not be finished after 2.45 minutes! Do not compromise and decide to stop earlier as indicated!!

Overall an excellent performance leading to a mark of 8,5

  13. If I'm not wrong, Platini said that from season 2012/2014 starts Champions League for youth teams. As far as I remember he said before every match, younger teams will play their match. Platini also said this is going to be a huge experience for young players but also for young referees. Any idea which category will do this matches?

  14. Platini says a lot. I am not sure but think that the plans won't get into reality for next season. I can only say that many German clubs were not really enthusiastic when they heard his plans.

    1. But to answer your question, I think 2nd and 3rd categories.
